The grounds were IMMACULATE. I saw peacocks roaming freely! The reception area had black oak beams and stone chimney-pieces, quite historical. My dinner included a hot apricot pudding dessert, beautifully finished. I will definitely return for another visit SOON.
The bar price list wasn't completely up to date. Prices differed SLIGHTLY from what was advertised.

The building has beautiful architecture and gardens. I saw peacocks roaming the grounds (they were quite active!). The staff was friendly. They seemed genuinely interested in.
I noticed the bar price list did not match the actual prices charged. I found this misleading. Breakfast service was somewhat chaotic (it felt understaffed). There was limited flexibility with breakfast timing.

great time at a beautiful place

i enjoyed a fancy lunch. we took advantage of a government scheme. the food was great and the staff were working very hard to serve everyone. they followed all social distance rules. the american pancakes was super delicious.
we arrived for our romantic break and there was a wedding party. we couldn't get to the reception desk because they took wedding photographs. the wedding was ok but not very nice for us.

i found the hotel setting very beautiful. there were peacocks roaming the manicured grounds. my room was impeccably clean and had lots of facilities.
the wedding i attended had bar staff who did not seem interested in being there. the bar price list was not up to date. i was charged more than advertised (which was quite annoying).
